LARGEST INDOOR LASER TAG SITE IS OPENED IN AUSTRIA
World's largest indoor laser tag site is opened in Vienna, Austria: the new LaserMaxx Wien arena is 2500 sq.m large! The site is located at Bogi Park, Hall A1, and is equipped with LaserMaxx Evo-5 laser tag system for 30 players (allows 6 different teams); besides the obstacles, the game area itself is equipped with different light special effects (FXs), several fog machines and laser show. BATTLEFIELD SPORTS REPORTS THE HUGEST LASER TAG GAME EVER PLAYED
BattleField Sports reported the hugest laser tag game ever played with 436 players at once, thus improving both their corporate record of 2008 (279 players) and Guinness Record (250 players). The event took place during the 2013 Australian Scouts Jamboree in Queensland with more than 11,000 Scouts from all over Australia and many other countries participating. One of the highlights of the massive two-week long event was a huge game of laser tag: the Scouts Australia booked 500 laser tag phasers so hundreds of scouts could play at a time. This record is said to be also the record for biggest single rental of laser tag equipment in the world.

FIRST LASER TAG SITE IS OPENED IN CROATIA
With opening of laser tag site in Samobor (Zagreb region), Laser Tag is now introduced to another European country, Croatia. Thus, Croatia (population: 4,290,612; area: 56,594 sq.km) became the 32nd European country, where - to our best knowledge - they play Laser Tag. FEDERAL LASER TAG SITES OPERATING NETWORK IS OPENED IN RUSSIA
Portal, Russian commercial laser tag operating network, reports grand openings of their new arenas in Novosibirsk ("levyy bereg" city district; this is their second arena in the city), Kemerovo, Tomsk, Barnaul, Tchelyabinsk, Ekaterinbourg, Nizhniy Novgorod and Omsk. Taking into consideration the two arenas opened earlier (in Irkutsk and Novosibirsk), the total number of laser tag sites belonging to Portal network is now 10, and the network itself became 'Federal'. The accumulated total size of the networks' arenas is about 4000 sq.m (ca. 43055 sq.ft), with about 2500 sq.m (ca. 26900 sq.ft) of maze space. ILTA REPORTS GROWTH IN EUROPEAN LASER TAG MARKET
According to the report provided by International Laser Tag Association (ILTA / USA) European laser tag market in 2011 was growing and - together with Australasian market - comprised 40% of world openings. INTERNATIONAL LASER TAG ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCED THEIR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of the International Laser Tag Association (ILTA) announced that it has named Ryan McQuillen (at picture) the new Executive Director. Mr. McQuillen, who had previously been Vice President of Sales and Marketing for LaserForce USA, will be in charge of managing the ILTA's staff and operations. Besides his previous employment for LaserForce, Ryan McQuillen was Operations Manager of Lazer Blaze in Louisville, Kentucky (USA), Regional Operations Manager for the Fun Junction in DeWitt, New York (USA), and was Tech Support and Installations Manager for Zone Systems in both the USA and the UK.
THIS YEAR THE US NATIONALS LASERFORCE TOURNAMENT WAS WON BY A TEAM FROM AUSTRALIA
The US Nationals LaserForce international laser tag tournament held at 640 sq.m arena at Fun Warehouse in Camillus, New York (USA) brought some of the game's best players in the world to battle it out in a high stakes tournament of 5 on 5 Space Marines (SM5). 7 Teams competed, each with 6 players, each team competed against each other twice which resulted in a total of 84 games (42 matches) played over 4 days. THE RESULTS OF ARMAGEDDON-2011 MULTI-SYSTEM LASER TAG CHAMPIONSHIP ARE ANNOUNCED
This year Armageddon-2011 was played at 7 different types of laser tag sites: Nexus, LaserBlast, Q-Zar, LaserQuest, LaserTron, LaserStorm and at an outdoor site. The champ was attended by 7 teams with players coming from throughout the world; the winning teams were: Swebriticans (35 points / 1 place), Zombie Apocalypse (30 points / 2 place) and Insanity (27 points / 3 place). Armageddon is a multi-format lasertag tournament; that means that multiple laser tag systems are represented - each team competes against each other team once in each system represented in the tournament. Teams are dominant in the systems they routinely play in national tournaments for, but in those systems that they are inexperienced at, they have to use raw ingenuity and team work to defeat those that are equally less experienced in the system. 25th ANNIVERSARY OF LASERFORCE ARENA IN BRISBANE
February, 2013: - 25th Anniversary of the World's Longest Running Laser Tag Site - Laserforce Brisbane - was celebrated in Australia.
When Laserforce was first established by the Kelly brothers in 1988, many believed it was little more than a passing fad. Now 25 years on Laserforce has become a multinational success, with 120 sites world-wide using the Australian made technology. WILL LASER TAG GO A BOXING-LIKE SPORTIVE EVENT?
October, 2012: - LSUFC - Lasersport Ultimate Fighter Championship - is seen as a "1 vs 1" laser tag duelling, a unique lasertag tournament that can parallel a boxing or MMA event.
The produced during the tournament video may contain a polished event feel much like a modern televised MMA/Boxing match. Match ups can be edited as a lead in to the event, statistics may be displayed, a referee will announce the fighters, intro music will be played, winners will be announced, etc.

LASERMAXX PRESENTS VIRTUAL LASER TAG SIMULATOR
November, 2011: - Dutch laser tag manufacturer - LaserMaxx - presents an on-line laser tag game simulator. The game is done in a very realistic manner and virtually simulates their EVO-5 version of the equipment. The virtual player has an option to chose one of 5 different arenas (at present time; looks like more layouts will be added soon) and and may fight against his/her virtual opponents. Also, the players will be able to create their own arena layouts of different types. The game simulates laser tag game VERY precisely, with all the obstacles, traps, lights, fog you can find at a real arena. The official release is expected in the nearest time.
POLIGON 64 PRESENTS WIRELESS VERSION OF THE EQUIPMENT
September, 2011: - Russian laser tag manufacturer - Poligon 64 - developed and starts marketing of the wireless version of their outdoor equipment. Among the other features of the new version are: realistic sounds, use of two phasers simultaneously (the primary and auxiliary weapons), wireless 'phaser-sensor' connection, etc.

July, 2011: - The opened in 2005 to general public non-commercial Laser Tag Museum in Louisville (USA) has accumulated many materials of the history of the world laser tag industry – from the very dawn of laser tag era and till the present time.
Yet, to make the full-scale presentation of the industry, even more materials are needed - especially the laser tag products that are predominantly in Europe and Asia: samples of the old laser tag equipment (such as Reflex, Pulsar, early Laser Quest, Q-Zar ver.1-4, etc.), cool laser tag t-shirts, membership cards, unique posters, old manuals, flyers, brochures, informational video tapes, pins, patches, bumper stickers and other related items.
