WILL LASER TAG GO A BOXING-LIKE SPORTIVE EVENT? October, 2012: - LSUFC - Lasersport Ultimate Fighter Championship - is seen as a "1 vs 1" laser tag duelling, a unique lasertag tournament that can parallel a boxing or MMA event. The produced during the tournament video may contain a polished event feel much like a modern televised MMA/Boxing match. LASERMAXX PRESENTS VIRTUAL LASER TAG SIMULATOR November, 2011: - Dutch laser tag manufacturer - LaserMaxx - presents an on-line laser tag game simulator. The game is done in a very realistic manner and virtually simulates their EVO-5 version of the equipment. The virtual player has an option to chose one of 5 different arenas (at present time; looks like more layouts will be added soon) and and may fight against his/her virtual opponents. Also, the players will be able to create their own arena layouts of different types. The game simulates laser tag game VERY precisely, with all the obstacles, traps, lights, fog you can find at a real arena. The official release is expected in the nearest time.
POLIGON 64 PRESENTS WIRELESS VERSION OF THE EQUIPMENT September, 2011: - Russian laser tag manufacturer - Poligon 64 - developed and starts marketing of the wireless version of their outdoor equipment. The device is believed to be manufactured in China, yet may be distributed under Spy Gear trade mark either by Vivid Imaginations (UK) or by Wild Planet Toys (USA).
The terrible Winnenden school massacre, that occurred on 11 March 2009 when a 17-year-old drug addict killed 15 persons, caused a new wave of anti-lasertag hysteria in FRG. While there were renewed calls for a complete ban on violent games, it was, surprisingly, paintball and laser tag which, ultimately, will find themselves outlawed. The Local reports that violators of the upcoming bans could find themselves on the wrong end of a € 5,000 (about US$ 6,800) fine. "Kids just admire laser tag; and this activity really resembles a sport of some kind. Despite the global financial worries, Russian market shows the increasingly strong demand for laser tag sites ('These days we're busier than ever, selling our equipment', - says the representative of Laser Club, a Russian laser tag manufacturing company. - 'People here are loving laser tag!').
