02.12.2008: 279 PERSONS SIMULTANEOUSLY PARTICIPATED IN A LASER TAG GAME RAN IN AUSTRALIA
As we were informed by Nicole Lander @ BattleField Sports, they have run a game with 279 people simultaneously (the event was actually booked for 300 but a few people couldn’t make it). The game was run at a BattleField Sports site in Australia. As far as we know, at present this game is the world's largest laser tag game to ever be ran (the previous record was 200 players participating in one game; that game was ran at Australian BattleField Sports' site as well).
25.11.2008: BATTLEFIELD SPORTS LAUNCHES ITS NEXT GENERATION DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
After more than two years of research and development, Battlefield Sports (Australian outdoor / indoor laser tag manufacturer) launches its new generation-2 digital technology: S*A*T*R (SATR stands for small arms transmitter reciever). Using a combination of lensed infrared and radio data transfer the new technology enables real-time hit-feedback and other statistics such as fire accuracy without requiring a central computer system. Part of the development process included creating a windows software application called “S*A*T*R-Sim” which was used to develop the games system and specifications. 14.11.2008: ANNUAL SCOUTS' LASER TAG TROPHY TOURNAMENT IS TO BE HELD IN RUSSIA
Russian Union of Scouts (RUS) and Uley laser tag arena in Nizhniy Novgorod (Laser Blast system) officially establish Annual RSS Laser Tag Trophy. This year the tournament shall be held on November 15th with participation of scouts' teams (up to 6 players each) from the following cities and regions: Arzamas, Dzerzhinsk, Kirovsk and Polarny (Murmansk region), Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rybinsk (Yaroslavskaya region), Tonkino (Nizhegorodskaya region) and Yaroslavl. Such event will be held for the first time in Eastern Europe. People involved are saying that the next year the RSS Laser Tag Trophy may acquire an international status...

25.08.2008: BATTLEFIELD SPORTS APPLIED FOR A PATENT FOR 'LIVE COMBAT SIMULATION'
Battlefield Sports, an Australian outdoor laser tag manufacturer, applied for patents for Live Combat Simulation and Inflatable Game System (applications to World Intellectual Property Organization No. WO/2008/074082 and No.WO/2007/070970). The texts of the applications caused some uneasiness within the members of world laser tag industry: some of us estimate that the may-be-issued patent will cover not the equipment produced by BattleField Sports only, but the other laser tag systems as well. 02.08.2008: JAPANESE ROBOTS PLAY LASER TAG!
Robots-Dreams.com informs about creation of a super robot laser tag game system, named "Blaser": Japanese Company HotProceed has mounted a small laser on the right arm of a KHR-1HV robot and a sensor in the robot's chest. You can move the laser up, down, and side to side using the analog joystick control. If your robot is hit, that automatically triggers a preprogrammed routine for it to fall down. After a few seconds, your robot can get up and resume play. However, if you're hit more than three to five times, the robot thinks it's dead and you have probably lost the competition. 20.07.2008: 2009' WORLD LASER TRIATHLON TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD IN FINLAND
The three discipline laser sport event (Megazone, outdoor Laser Skirmish by Zone and Laser Trap), World Laser Triathlon Tournament will be held the next year (2009) from June 7th to 12th in Jyväskylä, Finland. Team is max 6 players, Laser Skirmish and Megazone (or, more probable, Zone Nexus system this year) games shall be played as cup. Exact rules haven't been set yet, but previous years Zone3 Australian Nationals rules were used for indoor games. Entry fee will be about 300€ including all three events. The great advantage of the new project is that Laser Tag Wiki in no way is associated with the notorious Wikipedia project. October, 2012: - LSUFC - Lasersport Ultimate Fighter Championship - is seen as a "1 vs 1" laser tag duelling, a unique lasertag tournament that can parallel a boxing or MMA event.

The produced during the tournament video may contain a polished event feel much like a modern televised MMA/Boxing match. LASERMAXX PRESENTS VIRTUAL LASER TAG SIMULATOR

November, 2011: - Dutch laser tag manufacturer - LaserMaxx - presents an on-line laser tag game simulator. The game is done in a very realistic manner and virtually simulates their EVO-5 version of the equipment. The virtual player has an option to chose one of 5 different arenas (at present time; looks like more layouts will be added soon) and and may fight against his/her virtual opponents. Also, the players will be able to create their own arena layouts of different types. The game simulates laser tag game VERY precisely, with all the obstacles, traps, lights, fog you can find at a real arena. The official release is expected in the nearest time.

September, 2011: - Russian laser tag manufacturer - Poligon 64 - developed and starts marketing of the wireless version of their outdoor equipment. LASER TAG MUSEUM

July, 2011: - The opened in 2005 to general public non-commercial Laser Tag Museum in Louisville (USA) has accumulated many materials of the history of the world laser tag industry – from the very dawn of laser tag era and till the present time.

Yet, to make the full-scale presentation of the industry, even more materials are needed - especially the laser tag products that are predominantly in Europe and Asia: samples of the old laser tag equipment (such as Reflex, Pulsar, early Laser Quest, Q-Zar ver.1-4, etc.), cool laser tag t-shirts, membership cards, unique posters, old manuals, flyers, brochures, informational video tapes, pins, patches, bumper stickers and other related items.

We are addressing all the laser tag enthusiasts asking for their help in creating the true world’s laser tag display. If you can help – please, contact either the ILTA staff (mitchlasertag.org / +1 317-786-9755) or TRUTNEE Administration (trutneenarod.ru). Your help will be much appreciated.
