EURASIAN AMUSEMENT PARKS AND ATTRACTIONS EXPO IN MOSCOW (EAAPA-2008): WHAT'S NEW?

The first international entertainment exhibition EAAPA-2008 (EurAsian Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo) was held at IEC Crocus-Expo in Moscow from March 24 till March 26, 2008. The exhibition was especially remarkable because of the special attention paid to laser tag industry (e.g., special prices for laser tag exhibitors, laser tag seminar held within the conference days, etc.). As far as the exhibitors are concerned, the most remarkable booth was probably the one devoted to Lazer Runner system (btw, at this exhibition their new Windows-based software was presented for the first time in Russia, and probably, even in Europe). The Russian laser tag distributors were talking about grand opening of the second Lazer Runner arena in Russia within a couple of months. Besides, as a result of the exhibition there are good chances that two new Nexus arenas may be opened in Russia soon. And we are waiting for opening of another 3 or 4 Laser Club arenas (in Russia and abroad), as well. |

TANK COMMAND - A UNIQUE LASER TAG TECHNOLOGY BASED ACTIVITY

Following the idea of using small toy tanks for battle simulating with the help of laser tag technology inroduced by American Plantraco Ltd. in 2004, British company Tank Command Ltd. presented an enhanced version of it - "...a unique, fun and original activity and team game". Tank Command uses a fleet of radio controlled tanks (Tiger Mk1's along with Shermans), all of which are produced by a company called Tamiya (a world renowned producer of top quality radio controlled models). Each tank fires a harmless infra-red beam upto 35 metres allowing some long range shooting or close quarter shoot-outs. Each time your tank is hit, lights on the turret mounted battle systems flash to let you know, the first hit will slow your tank to half speed, the second will slow you down to 1/4 speed, and the third hit will knock your tank out of action for 10 - 15 seconds, after which, you tank will restart with full power and the battle resumes!
