JIM STROTHER: "...LOTS OF HEADACHES, BUT IT SHOULD BE WORTH IT!"
A new Photon center is being constructed in Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA), and Jim Strother is involved in this business. As we remember, Photon was the name of the first commercial lasertag arenas. Due to corporate problems and other issues, nearly all Photon arenas have closed by now. There is one arena left in Baltimore, MD (XPLasersport) that still runs modified Photon gear on certain nights only. Yet, Laser Tag System No.1 is worth playing; as Jim says: - "Even though the equipment is much more bulky than more modern systems, most of us who played Photon always felt it was superior"... As this project is not pure commercial one, donations are welcome. Please, Read more » |

NEW WORLD RECORD
According to the manufacturer's information, one LaserForce site recently recorded a staggering 19,517 plays in just 17 days, which is well and truly a world record. Such result was achieved with help of new feature of LaserForce Gen6 system - so called Continuous play, meaning that players can enter the game at any time regardless of when other players may have started their game. For example if a game is in progress and another group arrives wanting to play, the second group can start immediately. The scoring for both groups is 100% accurate, both groups can score on each other, and both will finish the game after their respective times have elapsed. Actually, such continuous game format can almost double the throughput of players with a corresponding increase in income. Read more » |

M.A.D.: A CONSUMABLE CLASS LASER TAG FOR TOUGH KIDS
A new consumable class Laser Tag system - M.A.D., or Mobile Attack Defend produced by SilverLit Electronics (Hong Kong) - became available for kids at the specialized shops. We presume it is based on the principles of Worlds of Wonder, yet it does possesses some unique feature advertised by the sellers as Physical shock. What is it, really? Is it the same feature as the one realized in the world's famous Ultimately Sadistic Office Gadget - Laser Tag Shocking Tank ("...Each time you successfully hit your opponents tank, they will receive an electric shock from their controller", Read more »)? If it is so, the new system is probably worth buying for adult use, too... Anyway, the design of M.A.D. is rather attractive; we can bet kids will love it even without electric shock ;-) Read more » |
