Alphatag is the flagship outdoor platform of LaserWar (11th-generation electronics). The core device is the headband or vest, not the tagger: Wi‑Fi X-Gen, Bluetooth 5 and NFC live on the player sensors; weapons connect as peripherals.
Smart NFC — Easy Start
Tap the headband to the rifle — the set pairs in about a second with no manual labelling or software pairing.
Bluetooth 5 — up to 7 devices per player
Weapons, vest, med kit, grenade, engineer case and phone can all bind to one headband.
Wi‑Fi X-Gen headband module
- Real-time hits, misses and eliminations to the arena server (~150 Mbps).
- On-headband buffer when leaving Wi‑Fi coverage; sync on return.
- NPC roles without a rifle — medic, engineer, VIP, hostage.
- Pick up any tagger on the field, pair to your headband, keep playing.
Milestag2 and Alphalink
- Milestag2 — open standard, up to 128 players in 4 teams.
- Alphalink — LaserWar protocol for up to 10,000 sets, penetration, cassette damage, firmware scenarios.
Parallax / Prisma optics
New emitter and lens reduce ricochets; manufacturer cites up to 2.5× range gain and 800 m outdoor class.
Sensors, OLED, Pro Signal
- 140° photo sensor; hex hit zones with LED + haptic feedback per zone.
- Dual OLED blocks: charge, link, player status, firmware.
- Pro Signal — 120 studio sound effects.
- Anatomic headband; IR emitters on the band for zombie/vampire NPC scenarios.
Runtime and bodies
Up to 36 h claimed battery life; AK-15 / AR-15 bodies; HELLFIRE (2024) compatibility. Sources: alphatag.com/features. Compare with LaserWar and Cybertag.
